Assist. Prof. Dr. Gopal Verma
Dr. Verma received his Ph.D. in 2017 from IISER Mohali, India. He did Post-Doctoral research in the CNRS Laboratory, University of Bordeaux, France. His research interests are in the fields of Opto-fluidics, Optics which covers various fundamental and applicative aspects, particularly in the understanding of the nano-mechanical effect of photons momentum in the dielectric medium. He utilizes simple optical techniques to characterize the liquid/solid properties by measuring nano-scale surface dynamics induced by external weak perturbation like radiation pressure and heating etc. He has proposed a compact optical technique based on the twisted lights to probe the pico-meter scale displacement on solid/liquid surfaces, giving the scope to extend the resolution of his previous nano-meter-scale measurements. Apart from experiments, he also has interests in FEA simulations of light-matter interaction. His research is recognized in several journals having a high impact and reputation.
