Assist. Prof. Dr. Kossi Aniya
Dr. Kossi Aniya received his BSc and MSc degrees in Physics from the University of Lomé (UL), Togo. He was awarded the China Scholarship Council (CSC) twice, and he obtained his Master’s and PhD degrees in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics at the School of Energy Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China, in 2015 and 2018, respectively, with Excellent Graduate Award (July, 2018). He has worked on thermal-optical radiation through porous materials and photonic crystals for solar energy devices. He joined as a part-time Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, UL (2018-2025). He was a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Micro-Nano Electronics, HIC, Zhejiang University (ZJU), China (Oct 2019 to Sept 2022). During his postdoc fellowship, he worked on the graphene-silicon hybridization to create a new class of nanophotonic and 2D-material-based devices for next-generation infrared photodetectors and sensors. He has published many high-impact research papers in internationally renowned SCI journals. He was awarded the prestigious National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Distinguished International Young Scientists Award (2021). In April 2025, he joined as an Assistant Professor the GPL Photonics Laboratory, Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics (CIOMP), China. His current research interests include Thermophotonic, Integrated-Heterostructure Nanophotonic, and Optoelectronic Devices.
